“This album is probably my highest level of vocal performance,” he added, explaining that he was listening to Stevie Wonder’s ‘All I Do’ and Alabama Shakes’ ‘Gimme All Your Love’ during its making. “The album is based around the change of the seasons in our city. It didn’t play out the way I would have wanted it to.” “Kanye just told me that Jay had done his first couple of lines. “Jay didn’t really do a verse,” Drake explained to Zane Lowe in a Beats 1 interview around the album release. Kanye and Jay Z’s guest verses on the previously released ‘Pop Style’ however have been omitted from the album version of the song. As teased in the production credits released shortly before the premiere, the album includes collaborations with Rihanna, Future, Kanye West, Popcaan and more.
